I love Elliott's rendition of "A Song for You" and Donny is one of my favorite artists. Elliott's album was good also. It was a freshing soul/R&B; mix.
  • Marvalus · 11 months ago
I was/am in love with Elliott! I still listen to his CD...it was refreshing to hear someone singing for once, you know?

Donny is one of my favorite artists too...Elliott did the song good.

Season 3 was the last season that I watched. I haven't turned that program on since. The best part of the season are the first couple of episodes, with the bad auditions.
  • Symphony · 11 months ago
I watched last night for the first time since Season 3. And Damages--watch that. The second episode of Season 2 comes on tonight at 10, FX.

My son and I watched the bad auditions last night and cracked up...I still can't believe that people show up and believe they are going to make it...truly tone deaf!
  • Marvalus · 11 months ago
    Damages...I will check it out...

    Hey Marvalus.

'Fraid I have to part company with you on this one. I have never been able to get into this show at all. Not one bit. For those who went on to succeed I'm happy for 'em, but this show to me represents so many things that I believe are wrong with the entertainment industry today. Plus I can't stand reality shows.

    Let me stop...

You obviously are a fan of long standing, so let me seal this raincloud up tight...
  • Marvalus · 11 months ago
Keith - Oh, I truly agree with you about this being the poster child for everything that is wrong with the ent. industry...it really is a "we can make anyone a star" type thing.

But the thing that catches me is that some of these kids are just looking for a chance...perfect example was Fantasia...how could she not already get a deal with a voice like that? Same goes for Jennifer Hudson...

I guess I just like other people grabbing hold of what they dream and chasing it...

And no need to seal your raincloud over here...hee hee hee...I hate the show for what it does to folks, but I watch for the talent that it brings out...

I'm with you - Taylor Hicks???? I'm convinced that it doesn't have as much to do with talent as it does with one's ability to convince their friends, acquaintences, relatives, coworkers, friends friends, acquaintences acquaintences, relatives relatives and coworkers coworkers, not to mention anyone who lived in his town/state, to vote for them. Although he didn't seem smart enough to have that much political savvy. No matter, I have been addicted to AI from day 1. So much so, that when I was so desperate for employment and so thankfully got a job, my very FIRST thought when I found out I had to work on Tuesday nights, was OMG I'll miss American Idol! Now that's a really sad comment on my exciting life! At least I can enjoy the beginning tryouts on Wednesday nights - they are too funny (and actually quite sad) - I think I heard you guys laughing from here!
  • Marvalus · 11 months ago
It did turn into a circus Season 4...I was so heartbroken!

You heard me laughing...Jordyn refuses to watch (although he does watch some parts)!
  • Mean Jeannine · 11 months ago
Yes, I'm SURE I heard you laughing. I was actually picturing you and Jordyn laughing while I was watching it. BTW, I have no right to judge ANYONE - did you notice how I can't spell acquaintance??? Well, shut my mouth!
  • Marvalus · 11 months ago
Since when did you become "Mean Jeannine?"

    hee hee hee...
  • KCTaylorFan · 11 months ago
Taylor Hicks won because 63 million people voted for him.
  • Marvalus · 11 months ago
Sweetie - you don't have to come here and leave your stats...I watch the show.

I am not denying Taylor's talent...I'm saying that he was not the most talented that season and it was more a popularity contest than what it should have been: a talent contest.

I saw Tuesday's episode of 'American Idol' and some of Wednesday's. Obvious the most memorable moment was the chick with the bikini that had sterling vocals-Paula and the girl judge was trying to hate on her....women (lol).
