    I always try my hardest to look past such statement. But my mind cannot help but ask "why was that said" or "why did they have to make that reference" or "what does that have to do with the subject matter."

    The exact points that you make in your post are hitting home right now with me. Unlike you, I've been called the "n word" to my face not only with the simple six letter version but also with words added on like "house" "dark" "stupid".

    But the worst is when it comes from your employer in the subtle tones. I like the more direct "you people" reference I received in an e-mail this week. It wasn't meant for me to see but they sent it to me in error.

    As usual awesome post! so true. I heard a black republican on TV recently say that racism is not the big issue that black people make it out to be!! Woo! I'm still trying to figure out what world he lives in! Racism is alive and well in America, and is a very present issue. The bigger issue is how you react to it once faced with it...
    We cannot be consumed with these distractions, we have to continue to live our lives the best we can, being in the World but not of it...

    It's that slick subliminal ish you got to watch out for like when Fox news ran that line on there ticker calling Michelle Obama a baby momma. They have gotten real smooth with their BS.

    I blew right by the 50 cent statement and didn't even think twice about it. There have been so many blatant "dog whistles" to the fringe that I hardly notice the subtle ones anymore.
