Props to you for making sure that your son attends school today and actively participates. I'm watching MSNBC and they've been mocking the opponents to the President's speech... and they need to be mocked. Of course the excuse will be that the opponents are just concerned citizens looking out for the welfare of children, but we know that's a bunch of bullshit.

Although they won't come out and say it, they are "protecting" children from the "big, black boogeyman".

Well, at my kids' school it was the opposite: It was left up to (AKA the buck was passed to) the individual teachers of each classroom and neither teacher decided to air it. I have an in-box full of emails back and forth to the school superintendent, the principal, and both teachers. In the end I arrived at my children;s school 15 minutes before the speech, we went home to watch it together, then I returned them to the school following the broadcast.
