Conversations With Marva: Sunday Inspirations: What Is A Friend?

  • SjP · 1 year ago
Seems like we get so caught up in our own corners of our own world that we forget what's really important. Having true friends are blessings from on high. What a wonderful way to let them know just how important they are to you. We should all let our friends know that they are loved. Much obliged for this timely reminder.

It is wonderful when you have friends to actually tell that you love them. Most people aren't blessed with one. You have a handful... And I'm sure many more. But that is a reflection of the great person that you are.

Glad that you took the time out to write this post. I hope they appreciate you as much as you appreciate them. :-)

You know how much I appreciated this post. I don't think my list would even be this long so consider yourself fortunate. I know you do!

And I'm so glad the job is going well and that you are WORKING IT. Please continue to share how it's going.

this is a great post. i say that because i am just now starting to learn what a true friend is. for some time i called people my friend when they were not. over the past several weeks, i have been going through my cell-phone deleting names of former "friends". i have been doing this also with my e-mail listings as well as my instant messenger services; people just aren't what they used to be, so why do i want them in my life?

when i think about it, i have only a few people that i can really call friends and everyone else are associates-people that are cool to hang with every now and then or i don't have to speak to them on a regular basis.

i consider myself to be a good friend and my true friends would say this. i would do anything to help a friend in need and at times, i have become friends with someone because i helped them out when their "friends" did not. i am a man of my word which is how i earn and keep the respect of my peers, because respect is more valuable than money if you ask me.

at nearly 30-years old, i can no longer have myself surrounded by folks that do not have my best interests at hand or are not willing to be a friend to me. the older i get, the more a realize that the word friend should not be taken lightly.

Thanks for the beautiful post. You have the heart of a true friend and that is why you ARE family. You know what I love? My life can be a mess, my house can be a mess, my HAIR can be a mess, my dog can be a mess, all my stuff a mess...and you NEVER run the other way. You are someone that never makes me feel ashamed or embarrassed to show you who I am, all or nothing. I've known from the very second I met you that we were on the same page (except your page is a BOOK), and that we were destined to become great friends. I love you, my friend!
