The Crosswalk
Freedom of speech.
On my blog in the disclaimer it says: my blog my opinion . . .don't like it click elsewhere.
If other people find it and get something out of it, good. If not, good.
It is worth noting, however, that there are a handful of blogs that have risen to a status of "mainstream media"---even to the extent of being quoted by other MSM outlets. Whether or not this is a good thing, I have not decided. But there have been times when I have lamented some of these spots' lack of "journalistic" integrity and ethics.
But back to your spot---folks do just need to calm down. Think of places like this as less of reporting in the first section of the paper and more like the op-ed page. I appreciate your blog (and other folks') because I find it helpful to get other opinions. I also find it helpful to read in-the-moment gut reactions to events---especially since I find it difficult to write that way. So in that regard---thanks for what you do!
And keep on doing it! LOL
I went to school for journalism, and I know the difference...and I think those certain spots know the difference too, but because they have been recognized as information sources, they claim to be something they are not. But when you ignore the integrity and ethics of true journalism, you cannot call yourself true to it. You are just out for the recognition, and that is faulty.
