Conversations With Marva: Old School Friday: Actor Who Can Sing and Vice Versa…

LOL!! I'm not mad at you for the Fox videos!
These are old right? They have the definite 90's feel and sound (matter of fact they both pretty much sound the same, but I'm not going to clown your man!).

    He does have some skills!

Now this was a successful run. I liked Peep This and Unpredictable. Remember the buzz around Unpredictable? I'm not sure about his upcoming album thoough. He's in bad company.

    Nice choice and Happy OSF!

See now, I wish he would do a lot more of THIS and a lot less of THAT. I loved "Infatuation" girl, that was my jam right there. :)

I've haven't heard either of these songs. I don't quite know what to think yet...hmmm.
    Happy OSF.

    Excellent Choice.

No question! Jamie Foxx is a great talent. I wonder that his acting ability has undermined appreciation of his singing talent.

I like his comedy much better. Did he sing in Ray? I enjoyed that movie immensely and Jamie gave a stellar performance in that role.

As you guessed, I’m not playing along in OSF this week either because my life is just too busy as of late. I hope to participate soon though.

I agree, and his acting ability shows some diversity in the sense that he can play Wanda on _In Living Color_ and then play Ray Charles in _Ray_. Plus we can't leave out the fact that he is a talented musician.

    Great Choice Marvalus!

I slept on Jaime's first CD, although I heard it was a really good one. Back in the day when I was in college my favorite cut with Jaime Foxx, was T-shirt and Panties featuring Adina Howard. However these two songs are more of my speed. I didn't know there were videos, too.

    where did my comments go...

Well, you know me - gotta go down Memory Lane all the time. So I posted some of the more "infamous" examples of actors trying to be pop stars from my youth:

I posted my OSF link and comment but didn't get any message nor do I see it coming up so here 'tis again just in case:

I like the new look, btw!

The amount of talent this man has is ridiculous and scary.
  • Kim · 11 months ago
oh..and additionally, have you ever wondered whether or not he's acting when he's sinigng. Does he just sing the way he thinks a singer would, because he's that great of an actor, and he happens to not be tone deaf and musically inclined. Once in a while he still gets that Wanda look, lol...I had to mention him in my piece even though I featured someone else.

Jamie is so talented, he is one of the few who transitions well

Jamie Foxx was a solid choice on your part. I think the first time I heard him sing was on a Christmas themed episode of "In Living Color". I was like, "Damn, Wanda the Ugly Woman can sing!"
  • Clnmike · 11 months ago
It's cool to watch him grow from a comic to the multi talent that he is now.

    I love it! Happy OSF!

I am not familiar with either of these songs.
To be able to both act and sing, what a life.

    Hey Marvalus.
Jamie is definitely a seriously talented guy. Stand-up comedy, actor, and a good musician. Out of all his skills I think I like his acting best. His portrayal of Ray Charles was just off the chain.

    Great choice, and Happy OSF!

Happy WW! I hope that Jamie Fox makes some positive moves for his career over the next few years. He reminds me of Eddie Murphy ... and Eddie made some wack career moves at this stage of his life. Anyhow, I hadn't seen either of the videos you have here. Thanx!

Thank you for visiting my blog earlier today. I invite your blog readers to see some photo of a truly FAT CAT!

    peace, Villager

I think we all had fun with this theme. Love the Jamie videos. :)
