    Another add to the Netflix list...one I would have never thought of. I adore Jeffrey Wright. Highly underrated. That's why the lack of starring roles for these actors like Jeffrey and Don Cheadle sickens me. But we can have Adam Sandler making dumb arse movie after dumb arse movie. *sigh*

    It's Stevie's birthday. Let me back in that and stop ranting :grin:

    I missed this recommendation on IW's blog. After reading your post I will definitely check it out.

    I've seen this dude play MLK, and the drug dealer from Shaft. What a great talent this man has.

    Loved this film! I am not a fan of Basquiat's art, but I do respect his impact and pioneering vision in the world of "pop art". J. Wright was fantastic as always. I don't get to see him enough as far as I'm concerned. Just brilliant.

    That damn Jeffrey Wright...I will forever ask the question: "Why do I not see him in more films?"

    I'm convinced he could play almost anyone, at anytime, doing anything...

    I remember seeing this when it first came out , he played the hell out of this part. His best work that I have seen.

    I like his pop art. My mother loved him.
    I did see that film on the independent film channel some time ago, but I'm glad you brought it up again.

    a brother gets locked up and things just change around here huh? lol Anyway i'm back out and i think im back in my groove. But you've totally sold me on this film and J. Wright is a marvelous actor. my MLK, To Peoples in Shaft to that crazy dude in Lackawanna blues. He's a great actor. I'm putting this on my netflix asap

    JW is true...I would watch him if he was reciting the alphabet...and that puts him in a very limited category of folks...
