And the congregation said Amen! There are very few public figures I truly admire and Miss Maya is 1 of them. Everytime I see her, she makes me feel proud to be black and a woman.

I love Ms. Angelou as well. A friend of mine knew that and had her autograph a copy of "Wouldn't Take Nothing for my Journey Now" for me and even though I don't care about autographs for the most part I treasure that to this day.

Ruthie Foster, a criminally under-appreciated artist, performed "Phenomenal Woman" as a cool song on her CD that came out this year (the CD is called, appropriately enough, "The Phenomenal Ruthie Foster.)

Danielle - Me too! Any Black Woman who makes me want to stand up and shout is definitely an icon in my book...Ms. Maya qualifies better than most!

Michael...Oh what I wouldn't give for that...wanna sell it to me? (((smile)))...I will have to see if I can get my hands on that Ruthie Foster...I want to hear that...

Thanks to both of you...Happy Thanksgiving!

The word I would use to describe her i guess would be Iconic.

You know maybe I should of checked to see if that is actually a word?
