The Crosswalk
I am SO pleased for Mary. We are peers and I have seen her grow and evolve into this grounded woman @ peace w/who she is. That takes ALOT of work. When she started out, I didn't care for her much because I sensed the negativity that sorrounded her. Her "energy" was bad, so I didn't pay too much attention to her.
"My Life", as you said, changed everything. It was a watershed moment for Mary and all us young women who listened and experienced right along with her. I remember taking a trip to Cape Cod, boom box and My Life in hand. It was the sound track for one of the most peaceful and wonderful moments in my life to date.
"Never Gonna Live Without You" and of course, "My Life" are my 2 favorites. I also loved the "Mary" album. I think people slept on that album because Mary took it in a more adult direction w/production from Lauryn Hill on "All I Can Say". "Beautiful Ones" gives me chills. It was 1 of Mary's most mature albums and I love it to this date.

I'm happy for her and her nominations!
DarkBrotha - You missing out on some gems, is all I can say...but the last album was truth!
Regina - I'm so happy from whence she came! And that "Just Fine" song is a favorite of mine!
Vanessa - Besides all of her crazy acting, drug-induced anger, it was pretty easy to see that she was going through something...and if we waited, we would get to see something beautiful emerge; and we did! I'm proud of her, too!
