Conversations With Marva: MarvalusOne Icon: Aaliyah

She's definitely missed. A unique, forward thinking artist. She was lovely, poised and never afraid to go her own way and break new ground.

Before Justin met Timbaland, there was Aaliyah already there almost a decade ahead of him. I still remember her and wish she was here.

    A true innovator.

I believe one young lady that has the potential to be at Aaliyah's caliber is Ciara, but even that is a far stretch seen as though Aaliyah could actually sing and as good a dancer is she is, does not have the best voice out there.

    Aaliyah...yes...definitely one in a million.

    Peaze out!

Though Aaliyah was young, she had her own style that is copied today. She made a name for herself using only her first name and maintaining a certain amount of mystery that just lured one into her. Aaliyah made sutlety sexy...less is more. She had sex appeal, but she was not over the top with it as you may see today. She kept her dignity and was a class act throughout her career. She was certainly one in a million and there will never be another Aaliyah. Miss her terribly.

She was definitely One In A Million! There was never anyone like her and will never be one who can come close to her, in talent, charisma, and just all around personality!

All - Aaliyah was just a beautiful and talented young lady who sparkled whenever she was seen...and I agree with For Angel Face, she had sex appeal, but it was never overt or in your face...

I couldn't even watch these videos. I still miss Baby Girl. I remember when she came out and how angelic her voice was. She had the hair covering her eye. We grew up together and as she evolved, that hair fell away from that eye and she came into her own.

I remember where I was when I heard of her death. Was like losing a family member.

    Great choice.

V - I cried writing this post because my heart is still so heavy for Aaliyah...I think her being on my mind is a reminder not to waste one single day...and I am truly taking that to heart...
