But that is the problem with music and rap in general, no one takes the time to listen to what they are saying. Every one gets caught up in the beat. So many books I can't really choose but "War and Peace", and "In Cold Blood" are books I have read several times already.
As for movies from books- books usually win " The Color Purple" would have to be on the top of the list. I catch is every year or so in full.
Gone With The Wind, a movie most people my age haven't seen, is a good movie but I never read the book.
"One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest" was a pretty good rendition.
I saw "The Heart is a Lonely Hunter" years ago on television though the movie was made way before I was born. I had read the book in middle school I think. That movie was well worth catching in my opinion.
Secretary of State would be my dream career but then again so would staff horticulturist...
I'd see Michael Jackson is a second though, I saw the Man in the Mirror grammy performance the other day from back before I was even watching television and that sealed it for me.

The Color Purple is my fav...I finally sat and watched Gone With the Wind all the way through last year...it was sprawling and magnificent...and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest...Jack at his best I think...
Now Michael Jackson I would see...the rest of the Jacksons can go sit down...
