The Crosswalk
People attack that which they fear. It seems that the number of people engaging in this behavior is small, because white, brown, purple, pink, orange, or green, I believe people, on the whole, are more intelligent than this. I hope and pray they are.
Beautiful cover!
I was also talking to a good friend who explained this view. America is use to have prim and proper white females. Not that Michelle isn't. It is just that to have to look up to a dark woman and refer to her as first lady . . .that thought is killing people. He tells the reason better than me. And he says as a dark man (he is) that he can explain it better. Haha.
Obama is actually biracial. So he represents MORE than just one race. He speaks to a multitude of ethnicities because of what he represents.
Everyone wants to be one sided (black, included).
I say judge him on his merit and character NOT the skin tone and leave his wife out of it. She is strong, educated and outspoken like Hilary was--it's a new era, so leave her be!
Or maybe I'm just reading too much into the situation.
What I want to always remember is the looks of love that Barack gives her whenever I see the two of them together. The pure commitment between the two of them, the unspoken communication that is viewed when you look at them; how can you deny the love that is there? That is what I want to embrace, not all this negative bullshit that is being forced upon the world right now. Michelle Obama is someone to be admired for her strength...and I intend to do that...
Your unmentioned (and I'm sure unoffered) apology is accepted.
