As much as I hate to say it but it will be much worse if he is elected President. I won't go to the blog so the individual can watch the stat counter rise. Its just insecure people searching for attention.

That is just low down, going after a mans wife. There used to be rules about this type of mess, this has to be check now or the next move will be the kids.

Indeed it is going to get worse. It was bound to happen with whatever candidate came along. With the internet having grown leaps and bounds. I hope those who are starting to sue bloggers for their misdemeanors start holding those who post blatant lies, or any information which has not been constructed with due diligence account, as responsible an accountable for what they post.

I tend to agree with DB, its going to get far worse after they occupy the White House. I think we may see a resurgence of racism & hatred in the country.

This is what happens when people are insecure afraid. They go on the attack. But this is more than people just being afraid. This is people who want to conserve their way of life being just plain TERRIFIED! These people cannot see themselves being led by a Black man. And quite frankly, I do believe that some of these folks wish they could have the kind of strength that she exhibits.

People attack that which they fear. It seems that the number of people engaging in this behavior is small, because white, brown, purple, pink, orange, or green, I believe people, on the whole, are more intelligent than this. I hope and pray they are.

And while you've got trolls out there who are trying to bring down this wonderful family, Mark Halperin from Time Magazine notes that the Obamas made Us Weekly http://thepage.time.com/2008/06/17/obamas-get-t...

    Beautiful cover!

I have told several people I talk with to prepare for things to get worse. When Obama is elected, I plan on keeping a close eye on my children. So sad I have to think like this.

I was also talking to a good friend who explained this view. America is use to have prim and proper white females. Not that Michelle isn't. It is just that to have to look up to a dark woman and refer to her as first lady . . .that thought is killing people. He tells the reason better than me. And he says as a dark man (he is) that he can explain it better. Haha.

I really don't understand the fear.

Obama is actually biracial. So he represents MORE than just one race. He speaks to a multitude of ethnicities because of what he represents.

Everyone wants to be one sided (black, included).

I say judge him on his merit and character NOT the skin tone and leave his wife out of it. She is strong, educated and outspoken like Hilary was--it's a new era, so leave her be!

Don't know how I missed all this. But notice how happy these two are with each other. People just knock the whole image of a great relationship between husband and wife. And then for this black woman to have a great intelligence, charisma, and all that other good stuff makes them want to say: Oh hell no... We will not tolerate a strong black woman doing her thing and having her own mind being married and what not to a man trying to get to the presidency. If we cannot stop him directly we will destroy him through her.

Or maybe I'm just reading too much into the situation.

All - Thanks for your comments! The fear is unreal; it is something that is based on the fact that this woman is her own woman...she stands on her own two feet and doesn't fit into the mold of what people think she should be...that is sad.

What I want to always remember is the looks of love that Barack gives her whenever I see the two of them together. The pure commitment between the two of them, the unspoken communication that is viewed when you look at them; how can you deny the love that is there? That is what I want to embrace, not all this negative bullshit that is being forced upon the world right now. Michelle Obama is someone to be admired for her strength...and I intend to do that...

The haters were bound to surface. That was to be expected. But WE know the truth shall set you free. They will prevail. This i feel certain of.

It's disgusting to try to shut down a blog by encouraging your readers to spam-flag it as "objectionable." Get used to competing opinions. Maybe grow up a little.

Umm, Texan99...maybe you should re-read my post. Nowhere does it say to spam-flag this site as "objectionable"...maybe you need to grow up a little.

Your unmentioned (and I'm sure unoffered) apology is accepted.
