Conversations With Marva: Breaking News: Tim Russert

I watch Meet the Press religiously on Sunday, in fact I go to second service because I like to watch MTP. I know that's wrong, but it's always been one of my favorites. It hurts because I feel all the news analyst that I love so much are passing away. Not many people today can measure up, especially integrity wise.

I totally agree Mrs. G...this reminds me of when Peter Jennings passed...I felt like someone I loved passed away; I think I cried for hours...

My husband told me about it when I was coming out of Walmart this afternoon; at first I thought it was a joke. And then I realized he wasn't joking. It's so incredibly surreal. What an incredible loss for America.

I began watching MTP a few years ago, and actually looked forward to it every Sunday. I will definitely miss him. It's so odd; things just don't feel the same without him here. I almost feel like I knew him personally. And to see the emotion pouring out of media representatives everywhere (I watched David Brooks almost break down, as well as Tom Brokaw) is bittersweet. On the one hand, it was wonderful to see that Russert was so incredibly loved. It's just a shame that this happened to see what kind of impact he has made on us all.

T'is the truth. They will not be able to replace him with anyone who is as much of a gentlemen and not a prima donna, and as committed to finding out the truth.

I cried too when Peter Jennings died, and it does feel like someone you know. Every week or everyday they are apart of your life and routine. Shortly after Peter died, there was Ed Bradley, and now Tim Russert.

@kwiz: I saw Matt Lauer breakdown at the end of a tribute, it hurts...

@MrsGrapevine - I saw Matt Lauer's tribute as well. It's so sad. I'm going to watch MTP tomorrow morning. I don't know how I'll handle it.

It was really sad losing Mr. Russert. Something that I didn't mention on my blog post about his passing, is that I have actually met Mr. Russert in person a couple of times. He is an associate of my mentor/business partner. This news shook me to the core because it seems like I just saw him. I think the stress of covering this years election really did a number on his health, because the man was a workaholic. So sad nonetheless.
