Conversations With Marva: Banned Books

  • Danielle · 1 year ago
I'm reading "The Fate Of Africa" by Martin Meredith and I am getting schooled big time. It's a monster book that parallels different movements during different periods of time across the continent. It reads well, fast and I'm a hell of alot smarter than I was about Africa.

It's amazing how many classic books were banned at one time. The mind can be a dangerous instrument.

Congrats on the new you, the new site, the new personal, professional and spiritual happenings that are headed your way, and oh-just-everything! I CANNOT believe you haven't read "To Kill a Mockingbird"??? One of my very favorite books/movies. On the flip side, "Canterbury Tales" ??? Had to study Chaucer in a college course - count me out on that one, my life is quite full without it... :!:

I've read about 35 of these1 I think I posted something similar to this a few months ago. I found this crazy list on "Stumble Upon" and think I posted about it. some of the reasons behind the bannings are simply ridiculous!

Regina - I picked up "To Kill A Mockingbird" today...I've always wanted to read it, and seeing it on this list reminded me...I looked at some of the reasons and laughed out loud...craziness!
